First aid obligations for:
Retail Stores
Every workplace has a duty to consider first aid arrangements, but the right solution depends on the specific workplace rather than the industry alone. Factors such as workforce size, hazards, public access, remote work and medical conditions all influence what is appropriate.

Retail brings slips and trips, manual handling and lifting of stock, cuts from box cutters and packaging, and the occasional aggressive or unwell customer. Members of the public are on your floor throughout trading hours.
Trained First Aiders
You want first aiders rostered across all trading hours — including evenings and weekends — and enough of them to cover both staff and the customers in store. Lone or small-team shifts need particular thought.
First aid kits
Keep a stocked kit near the counter and another in the back-of-house area, so help is close whether an incident happens on the shop floor or in the stockroom.
AEDs
High customer footfall means an AED can benefit the public as well as staff. Stores in malls, or standalone sites minutes from help, are worth prioritising.
